1. The principle of all-vanadium flow battery:

All-vanadium redox flow battery is a secondary battery with vanadium ion solution as positive and negative active materials. The positive and negative compartments of the vanadium battery are separated by a diaphragm, and the electrodes are composed of electrode active materials and current collectors; the positive electrolyte is composed of V(V) and V(IV) ionic sulfuric acid solutions, and the negative electrolyte is composed of V(III) and V( II) Composition of ionic sulfuric acid solution. After the battery is charged, the positive electrode material is V(V) ion solution, and the negative electrode is V(II) ion solution; after discharge, the positive electrode and the negative electrode are V(IV) and V(III) ion solution, respectively, and the interior of the battery conducts electricity through H+. V(V) and V(IV) ions exist as VO2+ ions and VO2+ ions, respectively, in acidic solutions.

The location conditions of battery energy storage are relatively loose, which is convenient for distributed arrangement on the distribution network side in wind power generation, which can effectively reduce the load peak-to-valley difference, which is equivalent to improving the load characteristics for the power grid.

As a public power grid, some large inductive, capacitive, switching power supplies and other loads not only obtain power from the power grid, but also affect the power grid itself, resulting in the distortion of the mains voltage waveform. As an uninterruptible power supply or emergency power system, vanadium batteries can be used as emergency lights in office buildings and backup power for computers. Its advantages are long life and low self-discharge.
